    Annual Pulpwood Queen Book Club hosted convention is always held Martin Luther King Weekend in January that is celebration of authors, books, literacy and reading all while having some really BIG TIME FUN!     FRIDAY AND SATURDAY – Day Panels

    All day Author Panels featuring each hour, authors who are interviewed followed by autograph time. All authors featured after their panel will immediately go to AUTHOR AUTOGRAPH TABLE at the VENDOR/BOOKSTORE table. To ensure you get your books signed, go immediately to the AUTHOR AUTOGRAPH TABLES after they speak, pre-purchased books only and be ready to have your book/books signed.

    MURDER BY THE BOOK of Houston, Texas will provide the BOOKSTORE for all the author books for the event. Authors also will be available to sign books throughout the weekend but do note some will only be able to sign after their panel, which will be announced.

    Also, we will have VENDORS, (open 8:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.), Friday and Saturday that will feature the BEST of the BEST SHOWCASED for our book-loving attendees.

    AN AUTHOR SILENT AUCTION will be held with showcased items signed and donated by all our authors. All proceeds from the SILENT AUCTION will go to THE PAT CONROY LITERARY CENTER, (The Pulpwood Queens Book Club endorses this literacy project as our charity of choice). All authors featured donate a signed object that ties in with their book for this literary promoting fundraiser. Be PRESENT and PREPARED to pay for the item you bid on for the Silent Auction by cash or check payable to Beauty and the Book Saturday afternoon.

    Chanticleer Book Reviews is looking for the best books featuring stories of all shapes and sizes written to an audience for Early Readers. Storybooks, Beginning Chapter Books, Picture Books, Activity Books & Educational Books we will put them to the test and choose the best Children’s Books among them.

    Description

    Writefest is a week-long writers' festival taking place May 27 - June 2, 2018 in Houston, TX. It is hosted by Writespace, Houston's grassroots nonprofit literary arts center, and co-partnered by the Rice Glasscock School of Continuing Studies and Texas Monthly. The festival kicks off with a series of Monday-Thursday workshops and culminates in a weekend filled with panels and presentations by writers, literary agents, acquisition editors, and literary journal editors of all genres; a literary journal and book fair; and readings by local and nationally-recognized authors. Click here for a current list of Writefest presenters!

    We are offering a wide variety of ticket options, including full-week, weekend-only, and one-day passes.

    Denise Ditto will be joining others at the Montgomery County Animal Shelter in Conroe on July 4th to read to the shelter animals.    Read more below ...

    Who Rescued Who has partnered with Montgomery County Animal Shelter Texas and Lone Star Animal Welfare League to redirect attention from the noisy, frightening sound of fireworks - to calm reading voices. All are welcome to come read, play music, or simply chat with a shelter animal.

    Lonestar Animal Welfare League will sponsor FREE microchips at MCAS on July 4th!

    $5.00 admission per person includes a "backyard BBQ meal", refreshments and admission to read. We will have photographers for the event as well.

    Get ready, Home for the Holidays is almost here!
    November 22-24th at The Katy Merrell Center.
    Common questions:
    Parking is free. Strollers are allowed. Gift certificate table will be in the foyer of the Merrell Center.
    Admission is good all weekend. Maps are given at entrance. Tickets can be purchased at either the pavilion or arena, be sure to shop both buildings!
    First Call Shopping is Friday 10-1:00. Tickets $10.00 can be purchased at the show beginning at 9:15 am Friday. Or get them early at The Learning Express on Fry and Grand Parkway.
    General admission is Friday 1:00-8:00, Saturday 10-6 & Sunday 11-4. $6.00 and good all weekend.
    Door prizes: we will give away 500 gift certificates this year. Facebook was only a handful. We will have opportunities at the show so watch Facebook.
    Register at the entrance for door prizes. 50 an hour will be given away during First Call.
